Grinded Concrete across Melbourne's South-East
Grinded concrete isn’t a different kind of slab, it’s a finish. Once the concrete is poured and cured, the surface is ground back to reveal the stone within the mix, leaving a smooth, seamless, low-profile surface with a premium look. It’s the finish we most often recommend when the area is going to be walked on barefoot, or when you want the concrete to feel like part of the house rather than a utility surface.
We use it most around swimming pools and alfresco and entertainment areas. Around a pool it lets us run a seamless edge right up to the waterline, and because it’s smoother underfoot than an exposed aggregate finish, it’s more comfortable for bare feet. It also tends to stay cleaner over time. It can be used inside as well as out, though the majority of the grinded work we do is around pools and entertaining spaces.
